PD: West Chester Man Was DUI When He Ran Over Stop Sign, Caused Damage To Home

A 28-year-old Chester County man was charged with DUI after police found he was under the influence of alcohol when he crashed, and ran over a stop sign, causing damage to a home in West Chester early Tuesday morning, authorities said.

Officers responding to the intersection of East Marshall and North Matlack Streets for a single-vehicle accident around 2:30 a.m. found a totaled car driven by Daniel J. Daley, according to West Chester police.

Officers later determined that he was driving while under the influence of alcohol, police said.

Daley was taken into custody and charged with DUI and reckless driving. 

A preliminary hearing is pending.
